Idaho Crisis Intervention Training

Summary

The program specifically targets expansion and standardization of evidence-based CIT curricula, with the goal of improving mental health crisis response, reducing use-of-force incidents, and fostering effective community partnerships. Successful applicants will develop and deliver CIT instruction, supply necessary materials, partner with local agencies for program sustainability, and formally evaluate impact according to established metrics.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include Idaho-based nonprofit organizations, units of local government, accredited educational institutions, and behavioral health providers with experience in law enforcement training or crisis response. Applicants must demonstrate capacity for program management and experience delivering large-scale curricula involving cross-agency coordination.

Requirements Checklist

• Applicants must submit: (1) a detailed work plan outlining how CIT training will be delivered statewide; (2) measurable objectives and program evaluation plans following Idaho CIT standards; (3) a comprehensive line-item budget; (4) organizational background, highlighting experience and capacity; (5) curriculum outlines aligned with evidence-based practices; and (6) signed partnership agreements where relevant. Awardees must comply with all state reporting and data collection requirements.
