this program funds PCP workforce recruitment/retention directly. The opportunity consists of three (3) tiers: Tier 1 supports practices accepting new patients (up to $75,000 per awardee), Tier 2 targets recruitment of new primary care physicians or mid-level providers (up to $300,000 per awardee), and Tier 3 incentivizes new Medicaid provider enrollment (up to $5,000 per provider, $100,000 program cap). Awardees are required to demonstrate deliverables, comply with specific reporting deadlines, and meet expenditure provisions by December 31, 2025 to retain funds.
Eligible applicants are primary care practices operating in Rhode Island. Practices may apply for multiple tiers. Tier 2 eligibility requires submission of current primary care provider list as of April 1, 2025. Tier 3 eligibility requires evidence of new Medicaid provider enrollment/application by September 1, 2025, with confirmation by December 31, 2025.
