Rhode Island RIDE awarded $5,486,200.40 to 14 LEAs and schools to establish or expand K-12 healthcare Career and Technical Education pathways in eligible rural communities. Projects support career awareness, exploration, and preparation across nursing, EMS, behavioral health, physical therapy, sports medicine, biomedical sciences, and related health professions.
The pre-award grant was open to eligible Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in designated rural Rhode Island communities. Proposals were expected to establish or expand healthcare CTE pathways, align with industry-recognized credentials, create postsecondary and career opportunities, and expose K-12 students to healthcare careers.
