Iowa RHTP: Combat Cancer Health Hubs

Summary

Hub-and-spoke cancer care network program (RFP# COMPADM26008) — Hub sites propose 3 Spoke subcontractor sites (hospitals, RHCs, FQHCs, oncology practices). Sequentially numbered after DB's existing COMPADM26005/26006/26007 records. Supports new chemotherapy lines of service, care coordination between sites, remote consultations and teleoncology services, virtual tumor boards, and referral/telehealth agreements. 5 Hub organizations selected and announced 2026-06-18: Ottumwa Regional Health Center, Wayne County Hospital, Shenandoah Medical Center, Greater Regional Medical Center, and Mary Greeley Medical Center. 100% funded by CMS as part of Iowa's RHTP award.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are hospitals, Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), and oncology practices in Iowa proposing to serve as Hub sites, each partnering with three Spoke sites. Spoke sites cannot receive funds through both this procurement and RFP# PHTHOCC26756.

Requirements Checklist

• Applicants must allocate a minimum of 75% of total funds to Spoke sites if the Hub is in a non-Rural area and at least 60% if the Hub is in a Rural area. Minor renovations or alterations are allowable, limited to $1 million per Hub-Spoke network or 20% of the total contract, whichever is lesser. Construction is not allowed. Contracting for tele-oncology services is permitted within stated cost restrictions. Spoke sites must provide or increase chemotherapy services by June 30, 2028.
