Indiana Department of Administration on behalf of Indiana Department of Education
Application Due
August 3, 2026
The program supports educator preparation providers and school districts, streamlining licensure requirements, offering up to 18 credit hours of funded coursework to candidates, and providing completion workshops and technology solutions. The official recommendation selected the University of Indianapolis to begin contract negotiations. The program aims to address licensure barriers, increase the supply of fully licensed special education teachers, and prioritizes candidates with fewest credits required for licensure addition but is open to any qualified applicant.
Respondents were required to meet Indiana solicitation requirements and provide technical, business, and cost proposals. Participating educators must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, be employed in an Indiana school, and have a letter of support from an administrator affirming intent to assign as a special education teacher after program completion, as well as a letter of intention to remain employed as a special education teacher for at least two years post-completion.
