Virginia RHTP: Innovative Maternal Care RFA

Summary

The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Request for Applications for Innovative Maternal Care, under Virginia's Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) "Connected to Care, Closer to Home" initiative. Addresses persistent gaps in rural maternal healthcare access -- limited clinical availability, workforce shortages, care coordination challenges, behavioral health disparities, and long travel distances for prenatal/postpartum care. VDH anticipates awarding approximately $11.6 million over the initial performance period; individual award amounts will range from $50,000 to $1,000,000 depending on project scope and scale. Eligible applicants include licensed EMS agencies, nonprofit organizations, state/local/Tribal governmental entities, hospitals and health systems, FQHCs, primary care clinics, rural health clinics, and institutions of higher education, serving or located in FORHP-designated rural Virginia communities.
