The program is funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $193,090,618.14, with 100 percent funded by CMS/HHS. Eligible applicants include accredited clinical training programs within accredited institutions of higher education in Minnesota, as well as various rural clinical practice settings. Training programs in Advanced Practice Registered Nursing, Certified Nurse Midwifery, Dental Therapy and Advanced Dental Therapy, a range of mental health professions, and Physician Assistant programs are eligible. Eligible practice settings include Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), health systems, hospitals, long-term care facilities, other clinics, private practices, and tribal clinics located in rural Minnesota communities.
