EMR Modernization Provider Funding (Year 1)

Summary

Under Maine RHTP's Technology & Innovation initiative: the state's first provider funding opportunity, approximately $30 million in Year 1 funding to help eligible rural health care providers replace, upgrade, and enhance electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Unlike a competitive award, all eligible organizations that submit a qualifying application are expected to receive an award; final amounts depend on applicant/site count and rural designation (rural sites get ~50% higher funding than comparable non-rural sites). Application process hosted by MCD Global Health, anticipated to open mid-July 2026.

Eligibility

Applicants and all owned sites must be located in Maine, enrolled as MaineCare providers and actively serving MaineCare members, appropriately licensed, in good standing with the State, and serving patients from rural communities.

Requirements Checklist

• Funding may be used for EMR system replacements, upgrades, enhancements, related hardware, and associated staff/consultant implementation time.
