This RFP solicits applications for the Minnesota Hospital Safety Net Grant program, which provides funding to licensed hospitals in Minnesota that deliver high-cost services to Emergency Medical Assistance (EMA) enrollees. The grant helps defray underpayments for EMA claims over $50,000, supporting hospitals in offsetting the costs associated with these cases. The total funding of up to $1,315,000 per year will be distributed proportionally among eligible hospitals based on the dollar amount of qualifying claims submitted between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024.
Eligible applicants are licensed hospitals in Minnesota who serve EMA enrollees and have submitted EMA claims exceeding $50,000 between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2024. Claims for inpatient hospital, outpatient, and emergency department services are considered.
