HOME RUN Rural Workforce Investment Program

Summary

Cash payment (not a grant to an org) paid directly to a licensed clinical healthcare professional providing direct patient care, in exchange for a 5-year commitment to work in a qualifying rural Hawai'i area. Four categories with per-individual caps: Allied Health ($50,000), Provider Recruitment ($100,000), Provider Retention ($75,000), Rural Practice Leadership & Sustainability ($200,000). Eligibility: US citizens/LPRs/COFA residents. RHTP-funded (CMS $188,892,439.75 Hawaii award). Eligibility

Applicants must be licensed clinical healthcare professionals providing direct patient care in rural Hawaiʻi areas. US citizens, lawful permanent residents, and Compacts of Free Association (COFA) residents are eligible. Must possess a current Hawaii professional license or certificate, and valid government-issued identification. An employment start date is required. Priority may be given to primary care providers, behavioral health providers, specialists in rural Hawaii, and individuals in residency programs as defined by Hawaii Revised Statutes 1B-1, as well as those in professions or areas with documented shortages.
