Growing Clinical Training and Readiness – Certified Nurse Midwife Training Program

Summary

the rural maternity care workforce, seeks to develop an in-state CNM education pipeline, and emphasizes development of rural clinical training partnerships and long-term workforce retention in underserved Indiana communities. Funding is supported by Indiana’s $207 million/year (Year 1) federal RHTP award.

Eligibility

Indiana institutions of higher learning eligible to confer a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and capable of achieving (or holding) ACME (Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education) program accreditation are eligible to apply.

Requirements Checklist

• Complete the REDCap grant application. Submit documentation of institutional ability and intent to develop an ACME-accredited Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) training program. Provide program implementation and staffing plans, strategies for developing rural clinical partnerships, rural workforce development plans, details for program evaluation and sustainability, and a full budget narrative. Include demonstration of institutional commitment, timeline for ACME accreditation, and stakeholder engagement plans.
