Montana was awarded $233,509,359 for FY26, the fourth-highest allocation nationally, with potential total funding exceeding $1 billion over five years. Montana received the fourth-highest RHTP funding award among all states, reflecting a strong application and need. The program supports five core initiatives: workforce development, sustainable access, innovative care models, community health and prevention, and technology innovation. DPHHS will collaborate with rural providers, hospitals, tribal nations, community organizations, and other stakeholders to deliver tailored initiatives addressing the state's rural health care challenges.
