# Rural Digital Health Sandbox Program (MeHI)

RHTP-funded grants of up to $475,000 for digital health companies to test, validate and pilot solutions with a Massachusetts digital health sandbox, measuring their impact on access, quality and outcomes in rural communities. Administered by MeHI under Massachusetts's CMS-approved RHTP plan. The program was approved by CMS and launched in October 2026 pursuant to Section 71401 of Public Law 119-21 (One Big Beautiful Bill Act).

## Eligibility

Digital health companies with a U.S. presence. The first step is to contact a sandbox to confirm it can support the company; MeHI introduces applicants to potential sandbox partners through sandbox office hours.

## Requirements

Awarded companies participate in Mass Digital Health Connects (virtual workshops) and are eligible for the Sandbox Mentorship Program. Application materials posted so far: a high-level project plan template, a project budget template, and MassTech's authorized applicant's signature and acceptance form.
