Perinatal Specialty Telehealth: Health Organizations

Summary

The program aims to connect rural providers with perinatal experts to improve maternal-fetal outcomes, enhance accessibility to specialty services, and reduce the need for patient travel.

Eligibility

Applicants should be care-delivery sites in rural Maine that serve perinatal patients and may have limited access to obstetric specialists. Participating organizations do not need to operate an active labor and delivery unit. Applicants must demonstrate secure technology and clinical workflow capacity, provider onboarding and training, documentation, referral and escalation workflows, care coordination, privacy/security, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting capability.

Requirements Checklist

• Implement perinatal specialty consultation workflows; support provider onboarding, training, adoption, documentation, referrals, escalation, and care coordination; participate in utilization, access, quality, performance, privacy/security, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities. Final funding amount is subject to review of allowable and reasonable costs in the cost application.
