the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) seeks to support rural hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers in Nevada to recruit and retain new primary and preventative healthcare providers, addressing rural health workforce gaps. Funding is offered on a competitive, tiered basis, focused on primary, specialty, and preventive services in rural areas. Projects should address priority needs such as provider shortages in hospitals and clinics, provider training, and rural specialty care. BP1 (Budget Period 1) runs from December 29, 2025, through October 30, 2026, with funds required to be expended by September 30, 2027. No cost sharing or match is required. Total competitive funding for BP1 is $32,387,689, to be awarded in multiple rounds if necessary.
Eligible applicants are rural hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers operating in rural Nevada counties, including but not limited to rural hospitals, certified community behavioral health clinics, federally-qualified health centers, tribal health clinics, primary care and specialty care providers (including dentists, behavioral health, EMS providers, paraprofessionals), school health programs, school-based health centers, and other healthcare providers. Non-profit, government, and for-profit health care organizations are eligible. Non-rural or out-of-state hospitals or healthcare systems may apply if supporting rural training or workforce programs with supporting letters of community/tribal support or MOUs. Applicants must be registered vendors with the State of Nevada.
